Lake Mead is the second largest man-made lake in the world. At the Lake Mead National Recreation Area, you can enjoy a variety of water sports - boating, jet skiing, wind surfing and fishing. An hour’s drive away, you’ll find the Valley of Fire. This is the site of Nevada’s oldest and biggest state park, where you can learn about the Native American cultures that made their home in the area.
Red Rock Canyon is just a half-hour drive from the heart of Las Vegas. The Conservation Area there offers scenic drives, hiking, biking, rock climbing and camping. Mount Charleston is 35 miles northwest of Las Vegas. Here, you can enjoy picnics, horseback riding and hiking trails. It’s also an excellent ski area, offering ski runs for every skill level.
SHOPPING & DINING - Las Vegas has some of the finest dining in the country in its beautiful resorts. The city has also become a very upscale shopping destination. Some of the most luxurious shopping can be found at the Grand Canal Shops at Venetian, Town Square, Wynn Esplanade and the Forum Shops.
